We cultivate the art of cooking

Our esteemed chef Christian Mamber, son-in-law of the house, learned his trade from scratch. Using only the freshest ingredients, he conjures up delicious lunch menus, creative tasting menus, luxurious dinner menus and a variety of sweet and savory treats à la carte. The Engel restaurant in beautiful Sasbachwalden has already won several awards.

The day begins with a sumptuous breakfast; in the afternoon we serve homemade cakes and pies for coffee; and for the hunger in between you get a hearty Vesper. Our menu includes fine international delicacies. With preference we serve Baden and Alsatian dishes.

The regional cuisine, which is as down-to-earth as it is delicate, benefits from the high quality of fresh produce – fruit, vegetables, herbs – and from an actively practiced tradition of specialties. For many of our guests, this tastes wonderfully like home and opens up new worlds of taste for others.

Our offer is complemented by selected aperitifs, fine fruit brandies and cocktails, beers and juices from local production. Our wine cellar offers excellent wines from the surrounding area as well as the best wines from other regions.

Culinary hunt

on 15 and 16 January 2021

It goes on the hunt for culinary delicacies and the best red wines. A high-quality game menu served by the “Engel” between tanks and barrels.
Along the paths fir trees, a high seat and many a forest dweller.

The dessert and the conclusion of the evening are musically accompanied by “Thomas Wellershaus & singer”.
Champagne reception, 4-course game menu, corresponding wines, mineral water and live music in the barrique cellar.

Join us for a behind-the-scenes taster tour. Enjoy many delicacies from our open kitchen in a casual atmosphere, good mood and live music. In doing so, we will observe the relevant Corona regulations and, if necessary, create a special hygiene concept.

Wine celebration evening on August 6, 2020
in the courtyard of the Alde Gott Winzer Black Forest with live music and culinary delights from the “Engel”.
For this, wines, sparkling wine and cocktails will be served appropriately.
